Nominate Now for the 2014 Cobb Public Safety Awards

The Public Safety recognition awards will be presented at the Cobb Chamber's October First Monday Breakfast.

The Cobb Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for the 2014 Public Safety Recognition Awards, including Public Safety Employee of the Year, Award of Merit, Medal of Valor and Distinguished Achievement Award.

The Public Safety Employee of the Year Award recognizes outstanding public safety personnel from every public safety agency in Cobb County. The Award of Merit recognizes an individual for an act of courage, demonstrating genuine care and concern for the citizens of the community and going above and beyond the call of duty, often resulting in a life being saved.

The Distinguished Achievement Award recognizes an individual whose service and performance has exceeded the demands of the job. The Medal of Valor, which is only presented in special circumstances, is the highest award recognizing an individual for an act of bravery in a life-threatening situation.

Nominations should be for actions that occurred between April 1, 2013 and March 31, 2014. Nominations for Public Safety Employee of the Year should be for individuals who have: performed their jobs with exceptional skills, innovation and results; exhibited leadership and increased employee morale; been involved in the community both on and off the job, reflecting favorably on their department; and exhibited critical incident management and devotion to responsibilities.
