Filling the Empress of China II Space

What should replace what was one of East Cobb's most venerable restaurants?

The Empress of China II restaurant closed in May, and the 4,000 square feet of space at the Market Plaza Shopping Center on Johnson Ferry Road remains available.

Empress of China II was open for 32 years, and in that time the restaurant scene in East Cobb has changed substantially, especially for Chinese and Asian food.

The space is located in one of the hottest shopping and dining corridors in metro Atlanta area, adjacent to the Merchant's Walk Shopping Center.

What would you like to see move into the former Empress of China II space? What's missing from the local dining scene that might make a perfect new home in the heart of East Cobb?

Please tell us in the comments.

4000 sq ft is a LOT of space. We can't really guess on the realm of the possible until we know the rent for the space. Having said that, only something that is tremendously well run can flourish in the spot as there is so much competition in the corridor. Plus parking has a hard cap of whatever is in the lot.

I'll be there; rabbi Alper should be good (his You Tube videos are entertaining). CongratulationsRead More to Henry Hene and the Habitat coalition for doing such wonderful work and promoting "We Build to Coexist, We Coexist to Build." Congratulations to Addie and Harvey Schneider -- both are the definition of mensch.

Hurray for the "old school" which just means having a few manners. Ms. Smith alwaysRead More seems to present three facts after what seems to be extensive research. People can disagree without being rude or spouting half truths. I'm glad we still have some ethical and honest people in our midst.
