Each item on an inspection form has a point value ranging from 1 to 9 points, with violations deducting points from a best possible score of 100. A sample inspection form is attached.
Higher points are taken for items with higher risk to cause illness, while repeat violations take even more points. Letter grades assigned are A for totals of 100 to 90 points, B for 89 to 80, C for 79 to 70, and U for less than 70.

Updated: Chris Nagle, the general manager at Mazzy's, informed East Cobb Patch that a follow-up inspection resulted in a "B" score of 85.
Baked sent out the following message to readers after this article was posted:
The health & safety of our customers is a number one priority for Baked. We want to reassure our loyal friends & future patrons that code violations resulting in a lower than exceptional score were resolved BEFORE the health inspector exited the building & remain so today.
Baked understands & appreciates the need for industry health standards but would like to offer details related to this particular inspection. A nine point deduction occurred when it was deduced that one pan of mashed potatoes did not reach optimal cooling temperature prior to refrigeration.
The four point deduction occurred when the dishwasher sanitizer strip did not measure at peak level. While there was no food contamination, no cross contamination, and no spoiled food; Baked takes these points very seriously.
We have always taken extra care & pride in our exemplary standards. We are currently awaiting re-evaluation to further prove our dedication & are hopeful to achieve our earlier score of a 100.
