East Cobb Doctor Heads Optometry Group

Dr. Stuart Tasman has been selected president of the Georgia Optometri Association.

East Cobb resident Dr. Stuart Tasman has been chosen by his peers to serve as president of the Georgia Optometric Association.

Founded in 1904, the Georgia Optometric Association (GOA) is a statewide professional organization whose 750 members serving communities throughout the state work to provide the public with quality vision and eye care services.

Prior to being elected president, Dr. Tasman served as president-elect, vice president, secretary and treasurer of the GOA. Dr. Tasman has served as a representative of the Greater Atlanta district on the GOA Board of Trustees and was honored as the association’s Young Optometrist of the Year in 1983.

Dr. Tasman is a founding partner of Tasman Eye Consultants located at 1415 Wooten Lake Road in Kennesaw.

Dr. Tasman received his optometric degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tenn., and his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

He and his wife Mary reside in East Cobb and are the parents of two grown children.
