Chicago's Joins Cobb Restaurant Week

The East Cobb steak and seafood spot is offering meal specials as part of the Cobb Chamber of Commerce's promotion through Friday.

East Cobb's  is participating in the third annual Cobb Chamber of Commerce Restaurant Week through Friday. 

Located at 4401 Shallowford Rd., near the intersection of Johnson Ferry Road, Chicago's is one of 20 restaurants offering lunch and dinner specials through Friday that feature three prix fixe menus at $20 per person. 

Sponsored by the Delta Community Credit Union, the Chamber's promotion is designed to encouraged diners to support local restaurants and satisfy their culinary curiosities.

New Menu, Promo at Caffe Fortunato

Today is the first "Kids Eat Free" Monday dinner special at Caffe Fortunato, which also is featuring new menu items. The Paper Mill Village restaurant is at the intersection of Johnson Ferry and Paper Mill roads.

Talkin' Hoops with the ECBA

men's basketball coach Lewis Preston is the guest speaker at Tuesday morning's East Cobb Business Association breakfast.

The breakfast runs from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at , 1311 Johnson Ferry Rd., in the Merchant's Walk Shopping Center. 

The cost for the breakfast is $8, and online registration can be completed here

Next Tuesday the ECBA's monthly luncheon meeting will feature KSU athletics director Vaughn Williams. That will take place at Hollycrest Hall, 2235 Sewell Mill Rd., starting at 11:30 a.m. Lunch is $15 for members and $20 for non-members. Register online here

Borders Liquidation Sale Nears End

The final days of Borders liquidation sale begin this week, as the book retailing chain sent out notices Sunday that only five days remain at most locations. 

The store at  is one of nearly 400 locations that has been offering reduced prices on its inventory, and now those prices have been dropped to 70 to 90 percent off for most items. The Avenue store's last day of business is Wednesday.

The Avenue store was  and will leave the East Cobb area without a major book retailer.
