Affordable, Family Seafood Fare at Bay Breeze

Bay Breeze Seafood Restaurant has a family-friendly atmosphere and offers the best variety of fish in the area. The food is delicious, service is friendly and the prices are surprisingly low. The interior is nautical -- of course -- and very casual.

I went at a busy time on Sunday but my server was friendly and organized -- I had prompt refills and table checks. I chose the Bay Breeze Special -- flounder, scallops, oysters, popcorn shrimp, clam strips and deviled crab for $13.95. The portions were huge. Normally I don’t order fried seafood because it’s too "heavy" for me the batter they use is light and enhances the fish itself. The crab cake was one of the best I’ve ever tasted.

There are multiple weekly and daily dinner and lunch specials offered at Bay Breeze Restaurant. Almost all of them are served with cole slaw, choice of rice pilaf, french fries, baked potato, sweet potato, corn on the cobb or vegetable.

If you can make room, order the bourbon pecan pie with ice cream for dessert!

Dinner:

Tuesday: Atlantic salmon, $8.95

Wednesday: Fried fillet of flounder, $7.45

Thursday:  1 lb. crab legs, $12.95

Friday and Saturday: Fried popcorn shrimp, fried perch and fried chicken tenders, $10.50

Sunday: Rib-eye steak (10 oz.), $9.95 or $12.95 with popcorn shrimp

Lunch: Fried flounder $5.95 fried popcorn shrimp and catfish fillet, $6.95; shrimp salad (boiled or fried), $5.50; chicken salad (fried or grilled), $5.50
