A Letter from the Wiccans
A recent column about Christmas mentioned the Wiccan connection to wreaths and holly; the tradition is actually traced elsewhere.
Hello, I read your article on It was a nice breath of fresh air that captures something that rarely is expressed.
Brave, you are. Being from a mixed religious family (with Jewish heritage) I laughed at the Chinese food line.
Anyway, I wanted to correct one mistake. The tree/holly stuff was not original to Wicca (which is a religion born about 60-70 years ago). These are traditions from the Celts/Romans/Byzantine Empire.

Modern Wiccans are resurrecting ancient symbols to re-awaken a sleeping spirituality that connects one with the land. (So we stole things too! ) :>
