Whole Foods Sneak Previews Start Sunday

Plus, Saturday adoptions at Johnson Ferry Pet Supermarket.

1. Whole Foods Sneak Preview Tours

After months of anctipication and buildup, the official countdown for the opening of the Whole Foods store at Merchants Walk shopping center in East Cobb gets underway this weekend. 

Sneak preview tours will be conducted on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Monday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with proceeds to benefit Keep Cobb Beautiful's Dig 'N Dirt program for school gardens.

2. Lawrence of Arabia

 This 1962 movie was meant to be seen on the big screen for one simple reason: its breathtaking cinematography. The spell-binding biography of a WWI hero, Lawrence of Arabia comes close to perfection in the realms of cinematography, score, script, and performances, and will be brought to the , for the first time this summer. Live organ pops variety show and sing-along featuring The Strand’s Mighty Allen Theatre Organ at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults and $7 for children, students, and seniors. Show starts at 8 p.m.

3. It's Adoption Day Saturday

Pet Supermarket in the Publix Shopping Center in East Cobb will have adoptions from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. The store is located at 1100 Johnson Ferry Road.

4. Laugh Laugh Laugh

5. Marietta Square Farmers Market Sunday Addition

The market is ocated on Mill Street at the Historic Marietta Square between the corner of Church St. and West Park Square and running down to the railroad tracks. Hours will be no later than 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., every Sunday, rain or shine, from May 22, 2011 until November 20, 2011.

Johnny Fulmer, Market Director, says that 40 vendors will participate this year featuring Georgia Grown, Made or Produced products which include locally grown fruit & vegetables, baked goods, bread, eggs, tea, candy, jams & jelly and fresh cut flowers.
