Mt. Bethel UMC Presents 'Dinner and a Show'

The Oct. 18 performance of "Voices That Cry Out" will benefit the church's men's scholarship fund for high school seniors.

East Cobb's Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church is introducing its first "Dinner and a Show" on Oct. 18 with a one-woman show by church member Brittany Moss Leazer in "Voices that Cry Out: Women of the Bible Monologues."

Here's what the show's all about, according to Brittany, a local playwright, actress, and devotional speaker who's also begun a new ministry, Speak Ministries (Facebook page):

Have you ever wondered how a modern teenager would react to the tidings Gabriel delivered? How did a Flapper help the Israelites in Jericho? And what if Elizabeth, mother of John, lived in the Bronx?! These are a few of the characters who travel through time to different settings, yet the details remain true to the Biblical account.

This One Woman Show takes an unconventional approach to telling the stories of ten different women of the Bible. Each character is written and performed distinctly unique, taking the women outside of their time period to make their stories more relevant.

Please join us for this great night of food and entertainment at Mt. Bethel UMC Friday, October 18, 2013 at 7 p.m.
