East Cobb Author to Have Book Signings

Reservations are required for the Book Exchange event on April 16 with Wendy Wax, whose latest book is "While We Were Watching Downton Abbey."

Many thanks to Cathy Blanco of the Book Exchange for passing along the following information about an April 16 reception and book signing she's having for East Cobb author Wendy Wax. The event starts at 6:30 p.m.; the store is located at 2932 Canton Road:

She will be introduced by another store favorite, best-selling author Karen White. Attendees can win prizes in trivia contests based on the Downton Abbey TV series and Wax’s earlier books.

The author of eight novels and a Florida native, Wax lives with her family in East Cobb, and has used both her Florida and Georgia environs as settings in her popular novels.

While We Were Watching Downton Abbey is no exception, set in the Alexander, an historic Atlanta apartment building. The Alexander’s British concierge invites residents to weekly screenings of the TV series, Downton Abbey. His invitation results in four very different people finding themselves connecting with the addictive drama, and—even more unexpectedly—with each other.

For the three women—Samantha Davis who married too young and for the wrong reason, empty nester and struggling author Claire Walker, and Brooke MacKenzie who constantly battles her faithless ex-husband—and their concierge, Edward, it will be a season of surprises as they forge a bond that will sustain them through some of life’s hardest moments—all of it reflected in the unfolding drama, comedy, and convergent lives of Downton Abbey.
