Wheeler Student Helps Nature Center

Ellie Stanley has been selling artwork of animals in the care of the Chattahoochee Nature Center.

Ellie Stanley, a Wheeler High School student, recently presented a check to the Chattahoochee Nature Center. She raised $130 by selling 13 of her 4x6 oil pastel and charcoal pencil drawings of animals that the Nature Center takes care of.

“I wanted to do something nice for the Chattahoochee Nature Center. I did this because I wanted to give my thanks for giving me alot to learn and becoming a leader," she said. "I thought that fundraising for the Chattahoochee Nature Center would be a great topic for my Senior Project at school.

"I chose the Chattahoochee Nature Center because it has been part of my life for three going on four years. My first year volunteering for Camp Kingfisher was when I was new to Georgia, so it gave me a chance to meet new people and make friends.”
