The Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project, now in its sixth year, helps keep beaches, rivers and lakes across America “barefoot friendly.” In 2012, Barefoot Wine and the Surfrider Foundation, along with community volunteers, are embarking on a tour of 25 cleanups nationwide, stopping in Atlanta. Anyone interested in learning how to implement farm to school activities in their schools and communities is invited to the first Farm to School Symposium Aug. 25 at the Wylde Center in Decatur. Teachers, educators, parents, businesses, farmers and community members can learn all things farm to school, share ideas and success stories and network with others to enhance future collaborations. A mixer will follow at the Wylde Center with food/drinks, music, and raffle prizes, all in the picturesque backdrop of the Wylde Center gardens!
