Transfers, Library Time and Baseball

Here's what you need to know to start the day June 20.

1. Today will be sunny with a high of about 93 and a breeze of 5 to 10 mph gusting to 15 mph, the National Weather Service says. The overnight low will be around 72.

2. The application period for school-choice transfers within Cobb County opens today and runs through July 1. Applications are available at the Cobb County School District website and can be submitted by mail, in person or by fax. More details are available here. The East Cobb schools with space available for at least one grade are , and high schools; ; and , , Shallowford Falls, and elementary schools. Here’s the complete list.

3. The weekly session of Family PJ Flicks is today at 6 p.m. at the East Cobb Library. It’s a free chance for the entire family to see a movie together. Call 770-209-2740 for more details, including the film title. The youngest members of the family might enjoy the music, storytelling and play of another East Cobb Library program, Itsy Bitsy Babies, from 10:15 to 10:45 this morning.

4. The East Marietta National Little League’s 9-10-year-old all-star team went 1-1 in pool play at the District 2 tournament at Murphey Candler Park in Brookhaven over the weekend. East Marietta lost 16-6 to Milford on Saturday but bounced back with a 14-4 win over Ben Hill on Sunday and has today off.
