The Weekender: 'Alice in Wonderland'

This weekend get out to the the Strand Theatre's 2013 Vegas Show; "Alice in Wonderland" at the Art Place Mountain View; a pancake breakfast; and more.

"Alice in Wonderland"

  • What: Join Curtain Call Youth Players on an adventure as they present Alice in Wonderland. An audacious Alice tries to take in everything that Wonderland has to offer - beauty, madness, logic and friendship.
  • When: March 7-10. Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m., Sunday at 6 p.m.
  • Where: The Art Place Mountain View, 3330 Sandy Plains Rd, Marietta, GA 30066
  • Cost: Tickets are $10.

Bike Night & Plowboys

  • What: Come out to Locals Bar & Grill for its first bike night event. The night will be rocked with live music from Plowboys, freebies and food and drinks.
  • When: Friday, March 8 at 8 p.m.
  • Where: Locals Bar & Grill, 5399 Bells Ferry Rd, Acworth

North Cobb High School Tennis Mixer & Silent Auction

  • What: The North Cobb High School tennis team is hosting a tennis mixer and silent auction. The mixer is open to players of all levels. The silent auction will start at 6 p.m. and last bids will be accepted at 9:30 p.m.  For more information visit lptennis.org.
  • When: Friday, March 8 at 6 p.m.
  • Where: Legacy Park Tennis Courts and Clubhouse, 4201 Legacy Park Cir NW, Kennesaw

The Vegas Show 2013

  • What: The Strand stage will be transformed into a Vegas variety show with showstoppers and impersonators highlighting the talents of Elvis, Madonna, The Temptations and more.
  • When: Thursday, March 7, Friday, March 8, and Saturday, March 9 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, March 10 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
  • Where: The Strand Theatre, Marietta
  • Cost: $28

Smyrna Kiwanis Annual Pancake Breakfast

  • What: Proceeds go to local school programs. Sponsored local schools are Campbell High, Nickajack Elementary, Russell Elementary, and Griffin Middle School.
  • When: Saturday, March 9 at 7 a.m.
  • Where: Smyrna First United Methodist Church, 1315 Concord Rd SE, Smyrna.
