SafePath Participates in Georgia Gives

This week's festivities include a Friday open house at the Marietta center.

Georgia Gives Day is Thursday, and the SafePath Children’s Advocacy Center of Cobb will be participating.

The purpose of Georgia Gives Day is to bring the state together as one community, to raise as much money and awareness as possible for Georgia nonprofits within a 24-hour, flash mob of giving on the website www.GAgivesday.org.

The initiative, which was officially declared Georgia Gives Day by Gov. Nathan Deal, provides citizens across the state with an easy platform to recognize nonprofits across a variety of sectors for their invaluable efforts.

To quote Karen Beavor, President and CEO of the Georgia Center for Nonprofits (the organization presenting Georgia Gives Day), “Nonprofits touch nearly every part of our lives. We are very excited to give Georgians an opportunity to truly recognize the nonprofit organizations in their community and give where they live.”

SafePath serves nearly 3,000 children and their families each year who are victims of abuse. The center provides a neutral, child friendly environment where professionals and agencies utilize a multi-disciplinary team approach to alleged child abuse cases.

The benefits of SafePath are: prompt on-going free services, a reduction in trauma to child victims and their families, and a community engaged in child protection and child abuse prevention.

This Friday, Dec. 7 at 9 a.m., SafePath will be hosting its annual Community Holiday Open House, which will recognize individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to preventing child abuse and neglect in the Cobb community.

RSVP by calling SafePath at 770-801-3465.
