Observing Purim at Etz Chaim
Students at the East Cobb synagogue's preschool have been learning about the annual celebration by making cookies, among other goodies.
Purim is celebrated anually with the reading of the Book of Ester (Megillah). Traditions include wearing costumes, eating triangular shaped cookies called Hammentashen, and shaking noise-makers (groggers).
The "Cool Cats" students at East Cobb's recently took part in the observance, which celebrates the Jews being saved from extermination in ancient Persia.
