Online Dating: SingleEastCobb.com

Surprising facts about this dating website that is advertised by roadside signs across Northeast and East Cobb.

If you've driven through Northeast Cobb you've likely noticed the "Single? singleeastcobb.com" signs stuck in the ground at major intersections. I decided during last night's thunderstorm to check out the website. Who knows? Maybe Mr. Right does live locally.

The website is a simple form. "The Dating Solution.....for busy professionals!" is the only information given about the site's mission. The form requires a telephone number, income level, and other  personal information that I do not share until I know who I'm dealing with. I fibbed on that information. I submitted the form. The next screen shows a picture of two attractive women, twins, Leisha Murphy and Lisa Lyngos, with a short paragraph telling me that they will call me to verify my information, discuss my dating needs, and then I can start my dating adventure.

I was a little disappointed. I had hoped to start my adventure with a sneak peek of available men in Northeast and East Cobb.

Who are Leisha Murphy and Lisa Lyngos, I wondered. I did researched. The women own a few Internet domain names caterng to singles. The prominent domain being www.singleatl.com. There, the women are described as, "Modern day matchmakers, and twin sisters, with 25 years experience." They manage the largest, privately-owned matchmaking firm in the southeast and have a huge personal network all throughout Atlanta, according to the website.

Murphy, Founding Partner, is a graduate of Baylor University, She founded Single? Atlanta 16 years ago with her husband and company President, Les Murphy. Today, as Founding Partner of the firm, she is active in serving clients in the firm's "Luxury Division." Her LinkedIn profile states that she's:

  • Director of Sales and Marketing at Andrew Rinehart Wealth Immersion Events since March 2011
  • International Market Developer at Adaptogenix
  • Owner at Leisha Murphy Inc.
  • Founder of Single Atlanta in January 1995

I felt more confident about the matchmaking service once I read that the founding partner is married. I doubt the abilities of any matchmaker who themselves remain single.

Lyngos, the Managing Partner, is active both in the daily operations as well as the service to her select clients in the firm's "Luxury Division." Since her early career in the modeling and fashion industry, she says people have always opened up to her easily. Lyngo's LinkedIn profile states that she's owned Single Atlanta since 1998, and operates Connect on Facebook and Find Your Mate in Atlanta.

Their matchmaking team is made up of two executive matchmakers, a marketing director, a vice president of client services, and a client services person.

Their matchmaking process is simple: There is the initial online form which leads to a phone call from their office. A meeting takes place with a member of their team. There's a questionnaire to complete. You choose a membership option. The Luxury Division choice allows you to work with Murphy or Lyngos personally.

I was unable to verify the cost of the membership options.

A representative gets to know you, and form a personal relationship with each client. They hand-select matches between individuals who share common interests, core values and life goals.

I was disappointed to discover that singleeastcobb.com is not based in Northeast or East Cobb. It is out of an office on Hammond Drive in Atlanta (Sandy Springs).

So much for hyperlocal dating!

Murphy and Lyngos invite singles to stop by the office. It's described as, "Plush but not at all fussy, it's a place where you can settle in with our consultants and begin talking face to face about your highest relationship aspirations. Consider this your invitation. Knock on the door, say hi..."
