4. A benefit rock concert scheduled for a private home on Paper Mill Road was canceled this week after Cobb County warned that the event could violate zoning, noise and alcohol ordinances, WSB-TV and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution report. The $100-per-ticket event, called the third annual Kia Soul Summer Series, would have featured the Gin Blossoms and benefited the American Heart Association, the AJC says.

5. East Cobb resident was in court for two pretrial hearings Monday in the case of November’s day-care killing in Dunwoody. Among other issues, the defense challenged the search warrant police obtained for , Dunwoody Patch reported. Police detectives also acknowledged that they did not read Neuman his Miranda rights before questioning him the first time because they didn’t consider him a suspect at first. Neuman returns to court next Wednesday.
