Marietta Man Wins $743K Lottery Prize

An East Cobb Citgo station sold the winning Fantasy 5 ticket in January.

An East Cobb convenience store recently sold a winning lottery ticket that netted a Marietta man a $743,000 prize.

Con Burgener matched all five winning numbers in the Feb. 23 Fantasy 5 drawing and claimed his prize Tuesday.

He bought the ticket at the CITGO Food Mart, located at 4360 Roswell Road.

Winning numbers for the drawing were: 1-18-19-20-28. Burgener used the game’s Quik Pik option to generate his lucky combination.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $13.1 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program.

More than 1.3 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
