Hitchcock; Harry's Tour; Doo-Woppin' on the Square

A sampling of things to do in and around East Cobb this weekend.

I'm still a little bummed out that "Psycho" and "The Birds" aren't on the schedule for the East Cobb Library's Hitchcock Film Festival, but one of my other favorites is on the bill on Saturday.

That would be "Rear Window," starring Jimmy Stewart as a laid-up photographer who entertains himself watching the comings and goings of his neighbors. When he suspects one of them has killed his wife, what happens from there is a classic convergence of Stewart's aw-shucksiness and the elevated tension crafted by The Master of Suspense.

When, where: Saturday, 2 p.m. 4880 Lower Roswell Road.

I've been to Harry's Farmers Market so many times over the years but this is a new one on me: . Featured are specials and samples and visitors can learn how to alkalize their bodies, lose weight and observe good nutritional habits. Not sure I'll ever be curious to try the former, but the latter two perpetually remain on my lifetime bucket list.

If you're looking to really spread your wings, stretch your legs and peddle away to enjoy what's supposed to be a spectacular, spring-like weekend, then perhaps might be for you.

Riders gather at the store on 4335 Cobb Parkway in the Cumberland area at 10 a.m. for a moderately-paced 20-mile journey known as the "Vinings Saturday Loop." Lunch follows, and I would imagine a nice long nap after that.
