Get Out to Football, Book Signing, Music

Walton and Pope continue in the playoffs Friday, and music is on tap this weekend on the Marietta Square.

1. Football is still in the air this weekend as two East Cobb teams continue on in the playoffs. The host the , and the host Stay with East Cobb Patch for the latest scores tomorrow night and complete highlights and recaps Saturday. 

2. Visit the 29th Annual Sprayberry Arts & Crafts Show with over 150 arts, crafts, raffle and great food. Proceeds go to Sprayberry High School PTSA. Saturday: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday: 12-4 p.m. , 2525 Sandy Plains Road. More info: 770-578-3200.

3. Author Bruce Gillett and illustrator Bill Needs will be holding a book signing at . Proceeds from the sale of the book, "Quarter-Peeled Oranges," will benefit the Atlanta affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. "Quarter-Peeled Oranges" is a book of poems. The event takes place Sunday, Nov. 20 from 1 to 4 p.m.

4. will not only be bringing its popular 70’s cover show to but will also be sticking around an extra night to take the stage with a different twist on the traditional tribute show.

On Saturday, the band will be performing not one, but two legendary albums in their entirety: The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon. The Dark Side of the Moon will be performed in sync with the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz.

Fans of The Yacht Rock Revue’s more well-known cover show can catch it on the night before The Beatles/Pink Floyd show. On Friday, the band will pay tribute to smooth hits of the late ‘70s including Michael Mcdonald, Hall & Oates and Steely Dan.

The Saturday night performance is for all ages, and the Yacht Rock Revue show is ages 18 and older. Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 the day of the event.
