Gaming Night at Giga-Bites Cafe

East Cobb gaming club is hopping with Saturday night activity.

Orcs and dark elves are fighting on a distant planet, advancing over rough terrain and through half-destroyed building to seize and hold objectives. Next  door, steam-powered robots controlled by wizards  are fighting valiant humans. Bombs are bursting and bullets flying.

Some imagination is required to bring these scenes to life, as they’re actually playing out on a 4- by 6-foot tabletop, and there’s no shortage of imagination and strategy at Giga-Bites Café, which bills itself as the Marietta area’s only gaming café. On a typical Saturday night, 20 to 30 gamers of all ages flock to the small, pleasantly cluttered space in a strip center along Roswell Road for tabletop gaming, munching on snacks and sandwiches and conversation about -- what else?-- gaming systems and strategy.
