Fun Runs and Craft Fairs

Just before the holiday season gets started, a number of church craft fairs will be going on this weekend in East Cobb to get you in the mood. 

The  runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the church, located at 1770 Johnson Ferry Road.

This is the 26th annual event sponsored by the Mt. Zion United Methodist Women. The work of more than 50 artists will be on display, along with prizes, a bake sale and more. Free admission. 

On Saturday, Faith Lutheran Church is holding the Faith Craft Shoppe. This arts and crafts sale, a joint effort by the Faith Ladies Guild and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The church is located at 2211 Lower Roswell Road. 

Johnson Ferry Baptist Church is having its Fall Sample Sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 955 Johnson Ferry Road. 

If you want to get in some leisurely exercise, there are two events for a good cause that you might want to consider. 

is having its annual Fun Run and Safety Fair on Saturday. The 5K race begins at 8 a.m., with the 1-mile run starting at 9 a.m. and the half-mile kindergarten run commencing at 9:30 a.m. 

Race day registration begins at 7 a.m. and the cost per person is $23. The health fair continues until 11 a.m. 

All events take place in the parking lot of the school, located at 1210 Johnson Ferry Road. 

Wheeler High School senior Keely Phillpotts is organizing a 5K walk benefiting the Fragile Kids Foundation on Saturday.

The walk starts and ends at , and parking is available at Eastside. The event takes place through the Indian Hills neighborhood of Indian Hills, join us for great family time together while supporting a special cause. 

The Fragile Kids Foundation aids Georgia’s medically fragile children with medical equipment and supplies that are not covered by insurance. The donation is $10 a person or $25 for a family of 3 or more. To register visit www.fragilekids.org and for more information call 262-581-5796.

And finally, calling all foodies: The Cook's Warehouse, recently opened at the Merchant's Walk Shopping Center, is holding its from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. The address is 1311 Johnson Ferry Road, next to Whole Foods.
