Final Curtain Calls for 'The Wiz' at Walton

East Cobb's best bets for entertainment and relaxation this weekend.

Ease on down the road this weekend with the final performances of presented by the Walton High School drama club. 

Shows are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and a special matinee at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Garage sales are in full swing, and from Thursday through Saturday is a big one at the Catholic Church of St. Ann. Organized by the St. Ann's Women's Guild, proceeds from this sale will be used for parish programs and for community charities.

Hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

It's back! The Paper Mill Market returns Saturday and Sunday to the Paper Mill Village Shopping Center, much to the delight of fine shopaholics. Clothing, handcrafted jewelry and other items will be on display, and for sale, and with great spring weather anticipated!

Where: Johnson Ferry Road and Paper Mill Road, behind Starbucks.

Hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Calling all East Cobb chums for the Community Arts Cabaret Show Saturday at 7 p.m. Singing, dancing, acting, joke-telling, juggling and other activities are on tap, and for an affordable family price. 

Where: Mountain View Community Center, 3400 Sandy Plains Road.

Tickets: Adults $10. Students $8. Performers free. $50 for table of six. $25 maximum per family.

If you'd rather listen to song, consider the Cobb Symphony Orchestra's concert at 8p.m. Saturday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Spirituals, jazz and west African rhythms composed by African-American composer William Dawson will be featured.
