Community Corner

East Cobb Lions Club Pancake Breakfast

The East Cobb Lions recently served up their annual Easter season breakfast, one of several fundraisers this spring.

The Lions Club International was started by Chicago area business men wanting to improve their communities. Just seven years into their organization, Helen Keller inspired the direction the club was to take in a speech she gave, challenging them to become "knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness."

The East Cobb Lions Club has been around for more than 50 years, and on April 28 will hold its annual charity golf tournament. All the proceeds will be used in local communities for projects benefiting the blind and visually impaired.
