McFarlane Park is an 11-1/2 acre park whose longtime owner, Florence McFarlane, wanted to keep it in a natural state in perpetuity. After her death in 1990, the preservation of the park became the first project of the Cobb Land Trust, a private non-profit organization that raises private funding.
The trust's other projects include preserving a portion of the Silver Comet Trail and acreage near the Kolb Farm national battlefield.
Around a dozen of the artists featuring their work at Art for the Park live in Atlanta Country Club Estates. The work available for sale ranges from drawing, oils, watercolors, bronze, pastels, wood, glass and photography to jewelry and metal art.
Proceeds will benefit the upkeep and maintenance of McFarlane Nature Park.
