American Flag Program at East Cobb Park

The Friends of East Cobb Park is encouraging citizens to sign up and raise flags on major holidays.

East Cobb citizens are invited to show pride for their country and spirit in community services through the American Flag Program of the Friends of and local Boy Scout organizations.

Citizens still have three major holidays remaining to display their flags this year, including Independence Day (July 4), Labor Day (Sept.  5), and Veteran’s Day (Nov. 11).

The flag subscription program is a service and fundraising project, and the prorated cost for the remainder of 2012 is $31.

Interested participants, please send an email to: FlagProgram@eastcobbpark.org or call (404) 626-0193 to make sure your residence is within the area that we are serving. Please include your name, address, city, ZIP code, phone number and e-mail address.

Once your address is confirmed to be within the program area, send a $31 check made out to Friends for the East Cobb Park and mail to:

Friends for the East Cobb Park
1200 Johnson Ferry Road
Suite 250
Marietta, GA 30068

The Friends and the Boy Scouts display and store the flags. The flags and the sleeves remain the property of the Friends for the East Cobb Park.

The FFECP is a nonprofit volunteer-run organization focused on improving the park, its facilities and programs. A portion of the proceeds also supports the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP). By participating in this project, your family also receives full park membership as a thank you for your support.

I'll be there; rabbi Alper should be good (his You Tube videos are entertaining). CongratulationsRead More to Henry Hene and the Habitat coalition for doing such wonderful work and promoting "We Build to Coexist, We Coexist to Build." Congratulations to Addie and Harvey Schneider -- both are the definition of mensch.

Hurray for the "old school" which just means having a few manners. Ms. Smith alwaysRead More seems to present three facts after what seems to be extensive research. People can disagree without being rude or spouting half truths. I'm glad we still have some ethical and honest people in our midst.
