A Whiz in the Classroom, and in Taekwondo

Do you have a young person who deserves recognition? E-mail wendy.parker@patch.com by 5 p.m. on Friday.

Tristan Trumbach, a student at Sope Creek Elementary School, just turned 9 years old on Sunday.

His mother, Renee Fettig, says he's been able to remain in the school's gifted program despite some major family changes, and has been earning some of the best grades he's ever had on his report card.

"My son is a very wise, caring , compassionate person who is a strong believer of the Catholic religion," says his mom.
