Parents, we hear you. It’s tough keeping your child or children organized on top of your busy schedule. Thankfully, there’s an app for that. Organization and planning are two life skills that we incorporate into our academic coaching with students in kindergarten and up, and in honor of that commitment to organizational excellence, we present Appleton’s picks for the top apps to keep you and your student(s) on track. Pocket Schedule (Free or $0.99)

Described as more of an alarm clock for your assignments and exams, allowing you to set notifications and alarms so that you don’t miss anything.

A FREE iOS, Android, Windows, iPad and Kindle capatible app:

myHomework (Free)

If your teacher uses the Teachers.io app, then you can automatically download class information and resources. The reviews are positive: out of 991 ratings, 702 gave the app 5 stars.

Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7 Friendly Program:

StudyMinder ($29.95)

For the price, this app comes with some pretty cool functions, including flash cards for studying and test prep. You can try it out for free for 30 days. It includes a project manager function to help keep on track with assignments, and it can track your grades.

If you currently use a paper planner, that’s great. Some learners prefer a paper planner. If you’re trying to make the digital switch, one of the above apps may help you with the transition.
