OPINION: No More Tax and Spend From Moderate Republican Leadership

Election day thoughts.

For a Republican dominated state, the election battles of Republican versus Democrats aren’t competitive, but for this and futures elections, it’s a battle between conservative republicans and big government moderates.

Today, you must vote and influence others to vote around you.  This is a defining primary election for Georgia Republicans.  A vote NO against the TSPLOST will send a message to big government moderates that they cannot buy an election with 8 million.  A vote NO against the TSPLOST will send the message that the electorate will not tolerate republicans that break their “NO Tax” pledge.  A vote NO against the TSPLOST will clearly state that the conservative grass roots movement will not accept the tax and spend mentality of politicians that waste our tax dollars.  We witnessed with Obama that a trillion dollars won’t work as a stimulus, but
tax and spend republicans push this TSPLOST that will not relieve congestion.

In our home of Cobb County, the co-author and cheerleader of the TSPLOST, Cobb County Commission Chairman Tim Lee must be defeated to send a message.  THAT MESSAGE: WE WILL NOT TOLERATE TAX AND SPEND REPUBLICANS.   Tim Lee has defined his last 18 months as chairman as a tax and spend republican.
He raised our property taxes by 16% in the middle of a recession, he raised our water bills by 12% and took that money for the budget, AND now he wants an additional 1% HOST sales tax that will not offset 100% of our property taxes.

Today we can send a message to Tim Lee.  NO MORE. There are three other republicans running for Cobb County Commission Chairman. All three are fine candidates that are in different places in their political career.  We support Bill
Byrne.  We support him for his budgetary experience and grasp of the issues.  We
support him for his tax cutting record of the past.  Byrne has shown that Republicans can govern based on their principles.  Bottom line with Byrne- you know what you are going to get.

Send a message today.
No more tax and spend from moderate Republican leadership.

I don't see the logic. If the projects aren't chosen on a local basis, then it will be only the state and federal government prioritizing them. That's what a "no" vote creates.
