Parks Bond Funds Illegally Diverted to Fund Braves Stadium: Sign the Petition/Letter

Action to Prevent Cobb Park Bonds Diversion to Braves Stadium:   As part of their overall flim-flam regarding the use of public funds to finance the private Braves sports complex, the Cobb Board of Commissioners is actually on the brink of diverting bond funds that the public approved specifically to purchase parkland, to help fund the construction of the Braves stadium. July 22 is the deadline for BOC action. Please get a message off to the BOC protesting this outrageous misuse of our tax money.

Here's a new update on the Park Bond 2008.  If you can help in any way with this effort to get the Park Bond 2008 issued before it is re-purposed that would be great.

We have now confirmed that the $40 million Park Bond of 2008, which was approved overwhelmingly by voters, is still on the books and can be applied to purchase parkland at any point in time! However, we also recently realized that the Braves stadium bond financing package includes the very same unissued Park Bond of 2008. You can read all the details here and send a quick email to the Board of Commissioners, asking them to use the Park Bond 2008 for parks, before re-purposing this bond for any other project.  If possible please send the email soon, because Tuesday, July 22 is the Board of Commissioners deadline for many budget / SPLOST / Braves financing arrangements. Please share this information with your friends and neighbors. Thanks!
