OBITUARY for Mr. William Henry Schmeelk, Jr., of Marietta, GA

William Henry Schmeelk Jr. (Bill), 68, of Marietta died Monday morning at 9:11 a.m. due to complications from an extended illness. Originally from Tenafly, NJ Bill spent the last 38 years living with his family in Marietta.  Bill served as a Captain in the US Army with tours in Germany and Vietnam.  He was awarded the Bronze Star for Gallantry in Action. He then spent 30 years in Sales and Management with Simmons Company. 

Bill is survived by his wife of 45 years Barbara, daughter Katie (Wilson), son-in-law Jay, son Chip, daughter-in-law Michelle, and his four grandchildren; Courtney (9), James (7), Ryan (3), Landon (2) all of Marietta.  He will be missed by all as an amazing, loving, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
