MUST Ministries is asking for food donations immediately to fill the pantry shelves for the thousands of people asking for emergency help. The summer months were difficult because schools normally hosting food drives are closed and many companies and churches take a break from collecting food. As a result, MUST is beginning the fall with a shortage, according to Annette Lee who directs the Donation Center for MUST. 

She said that of the thousands of people a year who come to MUST for groceries, almost half of them are children. “These families are in a crisis situation and need help stabilizing.” MUST helps by distributing groceries through food pantries at their Day Service Centers located in Canton, Marietta and Smyrna.

Of particular need are boxed complete dinners, canned meats, peanut butter, jelly, macaroni and cheese, powdered milk, canned pasta, spaghetti sauce and noodles, dried beans, beef stew, oatmeal, grits and pancake mix.

Food is being accepted at the MUST Donation Center Tues. – Sat., 9-5. The address is 1210B Kennestone Circle, just off Highway 41. A complete list of food collection points is on the MUST web site at www.mustministries.org.
