East Cobb's newest restaurant is giving away free meals to celebrate its opening this week. 

Zoës Kitchen is slated to open on Thursday at 4400 Roswell Road, located in the same shopping center as L.A. Fitness and across from The Avenue.

The Birmingham-based chain, which features a Mediterranean-style menu, is planning several other openings in the metro Atlanta area, including near Cumberland Mall in November, according to The Atlanta Business Chronicle. 

Zoës is giving away more than 2,000 meals across the metro area on its Facebook page to promote its four metro Atlanta openings. On its Twitter account Monday, it indicated 500 meal giveaways would be for patrons at its East Cobb location. 

The company describes its fare as "Mediterranean-inspired comfort food with customers' dietary concerns in mind" and includes gluten-free and vegetarian options.

The only other Zoës in the Atlanta area is open in Buckhead. The ABC report said the chain currently operates around 60 locations in 12 states, all in the Deep South, Texas and Arizona.
