The Wheeler Wildcats are used to being scheduled as a Homecoming opponent when they go on the road.

But if the Wildcats keep digging out wins like Friday's 3-0 result at Woodstock, that might start changing.

Wheeler soured Homecoming for the Wolverines with a 37-yard field goal by J.D. Barron in the third quarter and played strong defense to improve to 3-3 on the season and 1-1 in Region 5-AAAAA.

It also didn't hurt Wheeler that Woodstock (4-2, 1-1) committed seven turnovers.

For the first time since 1995, the Wildcats have shut out more than one opponent in a season. Click the play button for video highlights and comments from Wheeler coach Mike Collins.

The Wildcats now enter the toughest part of their schedule, playing host to Etowah next week, followed by region powerhouses and East Cobb rivals Lassiter and Walton.
