Trial for Hemy Neuman Set to Begin
Jury selection begins Monday as the former East Cobb resident is accused of murderding Russell Sneiderman at the Dunwoody Prep day care.
Nearly a year after his arrest and four months after being delayed, the trial of former East Cobb resident Hemy Neuman begins Monday with jury selection.
Neuman, a former manager at a GE Energy engineering unit in the Wildwood corporate center in East Cobb, is charged with the November 2010 shooting death of Russell Sneiderman outside the Dunwoody Prep day care center.
The trial in DeKalb County Superior Court was delayed in October when Neuman pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.
Neuman is accused of killing Sneiederman, who had just dropped off his todder at the day care center. Neuman supervised Sneiderman's wife at GE Energy.
During the delay there has been plenty of legal wrangling, including an unsuccessful effort last month by Neuman's defense team to compel the testimony of Esther Panitch, an attorney representing his estranged wife, who had been living in a neighborhood near The Avenue East Cobb.
