"Primrose School at East Lake had a great impact on my grandson's early years and mine as a new grandparent. From the sign language and music programs in the infant class to the technology, science and art in the older classes. This Primrose team wonderful!"
Jerry Tiberio wasn't the only reader who commented during this week's polling of top East Cobb preschools. And judging by the voting in this week's Readers' Choice contest, he had plenty of company.
Primrose at East Lake was the runaway winner in our polling this week, but plenty of East Cobb preschools got a strong number of votes, as well as ringing endorsements from parents, grandparents like Tiberio and others.
The East Lake Primrose received 1,137 votes of 2,563 votes cast, or 44 percent of the total. The JCC Sunshine School at Temple Kol Emeth was second, with 882, or 33 percent.
Finishing in third was Primrose School of Sprayberry with 357 votes, or 15 percent. Also receiving strong voting totals were Eastminster Presbyterian (55), Faith Lutheran (51) and Congregation Etz Chaim (26).
Regardless of the school, parents couldn't wait to express their happiness with their child's preschool.
Wrote Deanne Case: "The Wood Acres School has a very strong preschool program and has for more than 35 years. We are very happy with how their program has prepared our oldest child for Kindergarten. We applied for our youngest to begin the preschool program next year. Great school."
Orit Amir: "I'm sure that there are a lot of great pre-k's but the JCC Sunshine school at Temple Kol Emeth is just the best. It's all about the people. The staff is absolutely the best!! And the atmosphere is so welcoming, warm and nurturing. Two of my kids learned there and if I would have needed to register another kid to pre-k, I would register him again to this school with no hesitations."
And reader Meredith S.: "Eastminster Christian Preschool has been a great fit for our family. Our daughter is well prepared for Kindergarten this fall."
Thanks to all of you for voting and for sharing your thoughts on East Cobb preschools. We're grateful to all of you for reading East Cobb Patch, and we hope you'll make us your community news, events and information resource.
On Monday we'll post next week's poll about the best places to drink sweet tea in East Cobb.
