Oudin Ousted at U.S. Open

The former East Cobb resident was eliminated in the first round on Monday.

It's been three years since Melanie Oudin's big splash at the U.S. Open, when she reached the quarterfinals.

The former East Cobb resident was hoping to renew some fond memories this year. But on the first day of competition, the 20-year-old was sent packing in a hurry, falling 6-4, 6-0 to Lucie Safanova of the Czech Republic.

Oudin received a wild card invitation for the U.S. Open, based on some encouraging play earlier this year, including her first WTA title in England.

But she was a quick exit from Wimbledon, and hasn't been able to regain much competitive momentum since.

Oudin is ranked No. 107 in the world.

This girl has ZERO talent. She is all show and no boat. Why was she invited, again?
