Open-Mic Night With Len Rosen

The Stadium Bar & Grill lets anyone take the stage Tuesdays from 8 to 11.

Every Tuesday musician Len Rosen holds an open-mic night at the Stadium Bar & Grill on East Piedmont Road near Sandy Plains Road.

Rosen, a former special education teacher and full-time musician, is now a job coach for people with disabilities by day and a musician by night.

"I played at my first open-mic when I lived in Hawaii in 1994 and have not looked back," Rosen said.

This is not a guys-only event. Rosen welcomes female performers.

Rosen has a tip for someone wanting to perform for the first time: "Do it! It's really that simple."

If you would like to perform live, simply show up any Tuesday night between 8 and 10:45. Acts are accepted on a first-come basis. Performers usually get a 15-minute set.

Visit open-mic night to experience the best in live, local entertainment. The Stadium Bar & Grill offers much more than typical bar food; its restaurant menu will please your palate. The music has a tendency to reach deep into the soul and move listeners in unexpected ways.

For more information you can reach Rosen at radiotheory@gmail.com.

Rosen and the grill have a great vibe. Will be back again, should have more weekly evenings!

Thanks for the nice review. Just wanted to drop a note to add some details about the open mic:
-This is an acoustic, live-performance oriented open-mic
-No backing tracks... this is not a Karaoke event.
-No amplifiers. (If you can plug it directly into the PA, then you're good!)
-Unlike many open-mics, we're really trying to keep this one Drama-Free, and to create a very cooperative attitude amongst our performers and patrons.

We have built up a nice regular crowd and have some fine, fine performances happening every week these days. We hope that you will come on out and check us out. All levels of performance are welcome. We will usually be doing a house cash raffle at the end of the evening for performers who have been in attendance for the majority of the evening.

Big thanks to the regular crowd that have helped get this thing off the ground! If you are new to us and would like to be a part of our family, come on out and introduce yourself... YOU can play too!

Len is a really cool guy and encourages everyone to get on stage and just do YOUR thing. I've played many times at the Stadium and wish I could attend every week. It's a really relaxed atmosphere, so don't be intimiiiiiidated. Come on out and have fun. Brian Frey
