Marietta Police discovered guitars and musical equipment valued at $100,000 on an abandoned private drive on Merritt Drive, near Lockheed Elementary School. 

As Marietta Patch details, the collection was apparently burglarized from the unidentified owner. 

A Roswell man has been sentenced to serve 15 years for distributing images of child pornography over the Internet. Mark Twain Heaton III, 40, has a previous sex offender conviction.

Former Gwinnett County Commissioner Shirley Lasseter is preparing for a long prison sentence after being convicted of bribery. 

A Gwinnett judge gave her 33 months in federal prison without parole after accepting more than $36,000 in bribes from an undercover FBI agent. 

As Duluth Patch reports, her son is also facing sentencing later this month.
