Patch.com has scoured Cobb neighborhoods and compiled a list of great options to consider. Cobb offers everything from the funny, scary, charitable, spiritual and even an event for the kids. Here are 10 exciting ways to ring in the New Year in Cobb:
9 p.m. - Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, 2800 Cobb Galleria Parkway
This New Year's Eve laughfest features the five finalists from NBC's Last Comic Standing, Roy Wood, Jr., Tommy Johnagin, Myq Kaplan, Felipe Esparza and Mike DeStefano.
8 p.m. - Ghost of Marietta, 131 Church St., Marietta
Take the tour to three of the most haunted bars on the Marietta Square, the Marietta Wine Market, La Famiglia, and Shillings. Eat drink and be scary for the New Year's Eve Pub Walk.
8 p.m. - InfoMart's Creekside Centre, 1582 Terrell Mill Road
Come out for a little bubbly, good cheer and a good start to the New Year. Proceeds from Midnight in Marietta benefit The Strand, The YWCA of NW Georgia, Capital Campaign, CobbWorks, Marietta Museum of History and Reconnecting Families.
9:30 p.m. - Turner Chapel AME Church, 492 N. Marietta Parkway
For those who want to ring in the new year with a spiritual celebration, Turner Chapel AME church will host its signature version of a New Year's Eve Party with its "Watchnight 2010 Ultimate Praise Party."
8-11:30 p.m. – Mountain View Community Center, 3400 Sandy Plains Road
If you're a square dancer and you're looking for a little fun, join the Kennesaw Square Dancers for a special New Years celebration you're sure to love.
8 p.m. – Earl Smith Strand Theatre, 117 N. Park Square, Marietta
Ring in the New Year with Marietta native, Billy Joe Royal at The Strand Theatre. Enjoy Billy performing hits like "Down in the Boondocks" and "Cherry Hill Park", "I Knew You When" and "I'll Pin a Note on Your Pillow".
8 p.m. - Eastside Baptist Church, 2450 Lower Roswell Road
It's the answer to a parent's prayers who want to enjoy the evening – even for just a few hours. Eastside Baptist Church is sponsoring New Years Eve party for students.
9 p.m. - Dixie Tavern, 2319 Windy Hill Road
Ring in the New Year with rock party featuring band Shyanne.
7:30 p.m-2 a.m. - Marietta Hotel & Conference Center, 500 Powder Springs St., Marietta
