Both varsity soccer teams from Lassiter High School are off to fast starts this season, and they've been rewarded with state rankings as a result.

In the first Score Atlanta poll of the season, and published Monday by the AJC, the Lassiter boys are ranked No. 1 in Class AAAAAA, and the Lassiter girls are ranked No. 8.

No other soccer teams from the East Cobb area are ranked this week.

The Lassiter boys are 8-0-0 on the season and had given up only four goals before Tuesday's game at Cherokee

The Lassiter girls are 5-2-1, playing to a scoreless tie against Pope and their losses were to Cobb rivals Hillgrove and Harrison.
