How Would You Revive Olde Mill?

What kinds of stores would you like to see at this East Cobb shopping center?

To say that East Cobb's Olde Mill Shopping Center is going through a significant transition is an understatement.

Located at the corner of Roswell Road and Old Canton Road, Olde Mill has a number of vacant storefronts amid stable small businesses.

In recent months, A Costume Ball has closed its doors, following a Blockbuster Video store and a Hallmark card and gift shop in previous years.

But its fortunes may soon be changing. In November the Cobb Board of Commissioners voted to approve rezoning changes for a 24/7 Walmart grocery store to operate in the space of the former Winn Dixie supermarket.

The venerable House of Ming Chinese restaurant remains, adjacent to the European Deli, which relocated to East Cobb from Sandy Springs in 2010 and specializes in foods from Eastern Europe.

Just Fitness 4U takes up a portion of the Old Winn Dixie space, with Lisa's Nails, Cookies by Design, Los Arcos Grill and Roxy Package helping to anchor the retail center.

But other than the Walmart, what sorts of stores, shops and businesss would you like to see at Olde Mill? Let us know in the comments section below.

Sounds like a national franchise sub shop could move in and become a mainstay—that is if there won't already be one inside the Walmart.

Probably be a Subway or McDonalds inside Walmart but if this is a Walmart Super Center they would have a draw for clients requiring Home Improvements. While Walmart would have paint, they generally don't have carpet, so a flooring store to draw off of the store traffic..Maybe a specialty painting contractor that offers faux finishes and high end paints, they could do demonstrations on the sidewalk in front of their shop. Custom blinds and window coverings..Quiznos to do battle with Subway..etc...

Perhaps subway can locate inside walmart. A bank, sporting goods would be ideal. Some other good draws might be fedex/kinkos, dollar store, or goodwill donation. The site needs an updated sign with the tenants easy to read for drivers.
