Extended Mt. Bethel Post Office Hours
Late tax filers can drop off their returns at the Lower Roswell Road branch until 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Procrastinating taxpayers in East Cobb will have a few extra hours to be on time Tuesday.
The Mt. Bethel branch of the U.S. Post Office will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday to accommodate those taxpayers dropping off their federal and Georgia returns.
The Mt. Bethel branch is located at 4455 Lower Roswell Road, adjacent to the Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, and across from the East Cobb Government Service Center.
The tax filing deadline has been extended to Tuesday since the standard April 15 deadline fell on a weekend and Monday was Emancipation Day, a federal observance.
If you're filing your returns Tuesday, USPS Atlanta District Manager Sal Vacca recommends visiting your post office branch early in the day to avoid last minute long lines.
Vacca also recommends giving returns to outside collection employees (where available), using Self Service Ship and Mail Centers for stamp purchases, and double checking returns for the proper address and correct postage.
Customers should also be advised that all mail weighing 13 ounces or more must be presented at the retail counter.
