A man wearing a full-face motorcycle helmet stole an undisclosed amount of prescription drugs from an East Cobb pharmacy on Wednesday night.

According to a release issued by Cobb Police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce, the suspect walked into the Rite Aid store at 1900 Sandy Plains Road around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, jumped the cashier's counter and pulled a gun on an employee.

Pierce said the suspect shouted "oxys" and "Xanax," then took the items from the shelves and left the store, heading down nearby Scufflegrit Road in the direction of Allgood Road.

"Oxys" is a slang term for oxycodone, a generic analgesic used to treat moderate to severe pain. Xanax is the trade name for Alprazolam and is used to treat depression and anxiety disorders.

Both are considered highly addictive prescription medications when not used properly.

The suspect is described as a white male, tall and thin. In addition to the motorcyle helmet, he was wearing a black zip-up jacket and a red hoodie underneath. He also wore blue jeans and black shoes, according to Pierce.
