East Cobb Man Wanted for Killing Ex-Wife

Cobb Police say John Kristofak is at large and is considered armed and dangerous.

An East Cobb woman died Saturday after being attacked in her home, and Cobb Police have issued a murder warrant for her ex-husband.

Cobb Police Spokesman Officer Michael Bowman said Donna Nations Kristofak, 48, died after being taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital.

John Stephen Kristofak, 58, is wanted for murder and aggravated assault, and police say he should be considered armed and dangerous.

The suspect was last seen driving a brown Chevrolet Equinox bearing Georgia tag BUV 2635, according to police.

Bowman said a 911 call shortly before noon Saturday prompted police and EMS responders to a residence at 3960 Tall Pine Drive, located off Pine Road in the Walton High School area. Inside the home, Donna Kristofak was found unresponsive with serious injuries.

Bowman did not describe the injuries or the manner in which the victim was attacked.

According to arrest records, John Kristofak was charged in March with aggravated stalking. His address at the time was 4900 Turtle Trace, located off Trickum Road in Northeast Cobb.

Police are asking that anyone who sees the suspect to call 911 and to contact Cobb Police at 770-499-3945 with information about the case.
