East Cobb Cyclist Killed by Car

Bryan Morgan was riding in Sandy Springs when he was hit.

An East Cobb cyclist was hit by a car and killed this morning in Sandy Springs.

Bryan Morgan, 52, in northern Sandy Springs when he was struck from behind, Sandy Springs Patch reported, citing Sandy Springs police spokesman Lt. Steve Rose.

Both WABE and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Morgan was the victim and that police have not determined whether to file charges in his death. Officers are investigating who failed to yield to whom.

The AJC said the car was a Toyota Camry. WABE said Morgan was riding with another cyclist.

The accident came just three days after a that requires drivers to keep their vehicles at least three feet from cyclists when passing them.

On Saturday, East Cobb cyclists took to Roswell Road and other major thoroughfares to mark the new law, with many of them recalling close encounters with vehicles.
