Most of the rain in the Cobb area is expected to come before 11 p.m. Thursday, but freezing temperatures overnight could make road travel treacherous as the precipitation moves through north Georgia.
The main hazards are black ice and traveling on bridges and overpasses.
The low Thursday night is expected to be in the high 20s, with any snow accumulation less than half an inch in metro Atlanta.
After a rainy week, Friday will bring the first sunshine of the week. High temperatures will be in the low 50s, with lows in the high 20s.
Saturday and Sunday also will be sunny with highs in the 50s and lows near freezing both days.
