37 Lbs. of Meth Found in East Cobb

An East Cobb man is in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond.

A man allegedly had more than 37 pounds of methamphetamine, nearly three pounds of cocaine and a large duffel bag filled with cash as he tried to leave his East Cobb residence last Tuesday.

And when Marietta-Cobb-Smyrna agents found Jose Maria Gama with the items at the residence in the 3000 block of Alberta Drive, they said he failed to comply with multiple commands to show his hands, according to a Cobb County criminal warrant. Additionally, he resisted two agents who attempted to take him into custody, records show.

Gama was arrested on three charges, including two counts of trafficking in cocaine, illegal drugs, marijuana, or methamphetamine and one count of willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer.
