Do you have one hour a week to help an elementary school student with their reading? Communities In Schools is our nation's leading dropout prevention program and we want your help!
CIS Marietta/ Cobb County is currently seeking elementary school tutors to help in the Cobb County and Marietta City Schools systems. Georgia currently has a 72.3% graduation rate, however, studies have shown that the students who read proficiently by the 3rd grade are less likely to drop out of school! Literacy tutors can help students increase their academic confidence as well as improve upon their reading level.
Training is provided and matches are made based upon the tutor's preference. Please note, volunteers must be available to tutor during the school's normal operating hours (after school programs sometimes are available)
If you are interested in helping a student achieve please contact Meghan Wilson at (678) 503-0901 or mwilson@cismcc.org
